ABOUT

I Know What It Takes to Turn a Stalled Plan Into Measurable Gains.

Most colleges I encounter don’t have a strategy problem. They have a capacity problem. They know what needs to change in student success and retention. They might even have the plan, and sometimes the grant to fund the work.

What they don’t have is someone whose job it is to carry it through. So the implementation stalls, the momentum fades, and a year later they’re back where they started, but trust and optimism have taken a hit.

That’s the gap I fill.

WHO I HELP

I work with small and mid-sized colleges on the student success and retention work that’s too important to let stall.

Retention strategy, advising design, interim student success leadership, and grant or new platform implementation. If you’re stretched thin and carrying more than your team can realistically deliver, that’s exactly where I do my best work.

WHY I DO THIS WORK

I’ve spent 20 years inside colleges and universities.

20 Years

Inside colleges and universities, including about 15 years at the director level.

Improved Outcomes

Helped restore student retention from under 60% back to 70% during major institutional change.

I’ve moved or stabilized retention numbers through campus mergers, budget crises, and other periods of significant change.

I’ve built an Advising Resource Center to support a shared advising model, created an institutional research office and data system that cut request turnaround from weeks to under 48 hours, and helped rebound student retention in the midst of a five-campus merger and rebranding.

After two decades of doing this from the inside, I knew it was time to take the show on the road. I want to help more colleges do this work well, by meeting their unique needs, not just lifting methods or models that worked somewhere else.

Built Systems

Created advising and institutional research systems that improved access, coordination, and turnaround times.

Led Teams

Led high-performing teams through mergers, budget pressure, and organizational change.

A LITTLE ABOUT ME

Pittsburgh is Home Again.

In 2024, I moved back to my hometown to be closer to family. My kids are loving the tighter connection with their aunts and grandparents, and I’m enjoying exploring the city as an adult and reconnecting with old friends while making new ones.

When I’m not working through higher-ed challenges, I’m usually at the boxing gym, chauffeuring my kids around town, or tweaking a recipe. (I'm the family's go-to birthday baker.)

Let's talk about what's next.

Whether you're exploring a new initiative, tackling a persistent challenge, or just

want a sounding board, I'd love to connect.
